Feeding Guidelines
Budgerigars/Canaries should be fed a diet consisting of 90% Finch and Budgie Crumbles, 10% seeds (millet sprays, seed heads etc).
Non-Breeding Finches should be fed a diet consisting of 90% Finch and Budgie Crumbles, 5% seeds (millet sprays, seed heads etc), 5% Insects.
Omnivorous finches require insect protein supplementation when breeding, for this purpose, Vetafarm Insecta-Pro should be added to the diet before/during breeding and while young are being raised. 70% Finch and Budgie Crumbles, 20% Vetafarm Insecta-Pro, 5% seeds (millet sprays, seed heads etc), 5% Insects.
All birds require freely available fresh, clean water at all times. Birds fed on extruded diets will produce droppings of a different colour and texture to birds fed on seed.
